Pattern of distribution in living L-cell fibroblasts

NBD-stearate was taken up by L-cells, was not toxic at the low concentrations used, and distributed diffusely throughout the cytoplasm (at low concentrations) and both in cytoplasm and brightly into lipid droplets (at higher concentrations).
