As always, Avanti Polar Lipids has been hard at work over the last few months! Here’s what we’ve been up to, including tons of new products, lots of peer-reviewed references, and open positions.

New Products

Avanti released 20 new research products this month alone—including bile acids, click reagents, globosides, ceramide phosphates, deuterated bile acid standards, fluorescent lipids, prenols, photoswitchable lipids, and more. In addition to creating new products for your research, Avanti products also appeared in 317 peer-reviewed publications last month.

We’re Hiring!

So far this month, we’ve added nine passionate people to the Avanti team, specifically teams without our GMP and Analytical Divisions. Even with these great new additions, our company is still growing!

We offer a great benefits program, and we have positions available for 1st and 2nd shift operations. We’re located in Alabaster, Alabama, about 20 minutes south of Birmingham.

Avanti is currently in a state of growth and accepting resumes for the following positions:

  • Quality Control Analyst- Analyzes Avanti’s large catalog of high purity lipids, GMP products, and analytical services products with state of the art instruments. Prepares samples, performs analysis, and reports results. B.S. degree in chemistry or related science required; experience with HPLC/GC is a plus.
  • Final Processing Technician- Responsible for executing the procedures and techniques associated with preparing pharmaceutical products to their final state. Supports manufacturing by performing formulations, filling, labeling, and packaging. B.S. in a science-related field preferred but not required.
  • Rotary Evaporation Technician- Supports the manufacturing and production process for GMP and R&D products. Responsible for the efficient removal of solvents from pharmaceutical products by evaporation using rotary evaporators. They must be mechanically inclined, able to lift about 50 pounds, and stand for long periods. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Quality Assurance Associate- Ensures compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Good Manufacturing Practices. Performs document control for batch records, standard operating procedures, raw material, and product specifications. B.S. degree in science, engineering, or business management preferred.
