This month, we are thrilled to introduce Peyton McDonald, one of our Accounts Payable Clerks. Keep reading to learn a little more!

What do you do? (title, department, etc)
I am the Accounts Payable Clerk for the Finance department.

Why did you choose Avanti?
I chose Avanti because of its atmosphere. When I interviewed, I recognized that this was important work being done, but the overall vibe was one of a small-town/close-knit community. And that’s what attracted me.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Solving problems with the team to get invoices paid on time.

What is most rewarding about your job?
Knowing that even the smallest invoice that comes into my email has the potential to be a part of something so big, for a patient I may never meet.

What led you to this career and what advice do you have for people considering it?
I stumbled into accounting/finance on the advice of an old boss and ended up being good at it. I would encourage those interested in accounts payable to make sure you are organized, have the capacity to work quickly when needed, and have great communication skills! Being kind goes a long way when you’re talking about money 😊

Favorite holiday and why?
Easter – the crucifixion and resurrection story of Christ is so powerful.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I like to literally be outside, whether it’s running, hiking, cycling, walking my Corgi puppy, camping, rock climbing, or just getting ice cream.

What historical figure would you most like to meet and why?
Queen Elizabeth II – not only was she one of the longest-reigning monarchs, but also a devoted wife and mother of 70+ years.

Favorite movie?
Inglorious Basterds or The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

What kind of music do you listen to?
Either country, or coffee shop vibes
