Avanti Update: Impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Our Operations

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Avanti’s top priority is the health, safety and well-being of our clients and employees. Avanti has taken steps consistent with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to mitigate the impact of this pandemic to our business operations. We are committed to being responsive to our client’s concerns related to manufacturing timelines. In this interim period, Avanti is closely monitoring our supply chain and human resources, and we do not anticipate a delay in manufacturing timelines at this time. However, if conditions change, Avanti will communicate any timeline impacts as soon as information becomes available. We appreciate your patience during this unusual time and thank you for partnering with Avanti.


What is Avanti doing to reduce the spread of COVID-19?

As members of the international scientific community, we are taking precautionary measures that put safety first, including:

  • Following U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19


  • Complying with local government instructions when and where applicable and taking precautions to keep our team healthy such as temperature checks, telecommuting, implementing additional shifts to minimize the numbers of workers onsite at one time, and social distancing for those who are onsite.


  • Prohibiting travel within our operation with the exception of travel deemed essential for the purposes of maintaining the ongoing core operations of the company


How is the COVID-19 impacting our product availability for customers?

  • As we follow local guidelines such as working from home and social distancing, these actions are not affecting our production.


  • We maintain safety stocks of raw materials and finished goods. Both of these are used to buffer the dynamic market conditions.


  • Avanti maintains close ties with major shipping companies and thus far we have seen little delay or no delay in delivering products in most countries. What we have seen is that some of our customers have a reduced capability to accept and receive the shipment. We ask that you keep us posted on your unique situation to allow us to better serve you.


How does COVID-19 impact other customer-related activities, such as customer service or technical support?

Our production site is following local regulations and guidelines regarding operating hours and staffing levels. At this time, all of our customer service and technical support functions are fully operational.


How is Avanti helping the world community in dealing with this health crisis?

Avanti manufactures products that are used to support vaccine research associated with COVID-19. Due to a large surge in demand, we are working around the clock to produce these products as quickly as possible. A number of the recently publicized vaccine trials utilize Avanti’s products, putting us on the front line of this struggle. Our primary function will be to support ongoing efforts in vaccine development by multiple clients and help make these developing therapies available to those who need them most.
