Frequently Asked Questions

How do I send a sample to Avanti?

The first step is to fill out our online Analytical Services Order Form. This form allows you to communicate all of the information we need to process your order, confirms pricing, and notifies us to expect your sample. Print out a copy of the completed order form after submitting it online and send it in the package with your samples.

Always send your sample in a tightly sealed container with a label providing an adequate description of the contents. Sealed foil pouches, screw cap glass bottles that are taped shut with stretch tape, or typical nutraceutical plastic bottles containing capsules are all examples of acceptable types of sample containers. If you have perishable samples, please send them on ice packs or dry ice via an expedited shipping method such as FedEx priority overnight. Make sure to protect your sample container from breakage with bubble wrap or other packing materials and send them to:

Avanti Polar Lipids, Inc.
Attention: Analytical Services
700 Industrial Park Drive
Alabaster, AL 35007
Phone: 205-663-2494

Once we receive your sample, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your sample and the approximate date you will receive your results.

How much sample do I need to send?

Sample size depends on the test that you need performed and the type of sample you have. If it is the first time you are sending us a sample, just send us a quick email to let us know what you are planning to send and what type of analysis you need. We will quickly send you an email back to let you know what size sample would be required for your sample type.

How fast will I get my results?

Our standard turn-around time is 10-14 business days from receipt of your sample.

We are desperate! Can I get RUSH testing?

Of course you can. We understand this fast-paced world and offer two options for RUSH testing:

  • 3-5 day turn-around for 2x the normal price of the analysis
  • 24-48 hour turn-around for 3x the normal price of the analysis

These options are on the Avanti Analytical Services Order Form. If you decide you need RUSH testing after you have already submitted your order and shipped your sample please just call or e-mail us to request.

How will the results be reported to me?

You will receive a formal report in pdf form at the email address used to submit the order. The report will detail sample receipt and storage, a brief description of the analysis performed, and the results of the analysis. Your report will be signed by the performing analyst and a second reviewing analyst. (If you have arranged for cGMP analysis, the Quality Assurance Department will also be involved in the review of all data and reporting and a third signature will be included for the QA Associate involved.)

Can I get my remaining sample sent back to me when the testing is done?

Yes, we can ship any remaining sample back to you after analysis. This must be pre-arranged by requesting it on your Avanti Analytical Services Order Form. You will be responsible for any shipping charges incurred in sending your sample back. We can add this fee to your invoice, or you may provide us with a FedEx account number to cover the shipping charge.

How do I pay for Avanti Analytical Services?

For new customers, we accept credit card payment only. We will ask for your credit card information prior to performing the analysis and will bill your credit card on the day that we send you the report. After you have set-up an account with us and been approved by the friendly folks in accounting, we can also accept purchase orders and wire transfers.

Where are you located?

We have one location and are located just south of Birmingham, Alabama in the Southeastern United States.

Can I Get a Discounted Price if I Have Multiple Samples?

If you will be sending more than 10 samples at one time, please send us an email to request a quote.
